Shahid Afridi’s 28th duck on 28th August
Sharjah: Pakistan’s all-round batsman Shahid Afridi has been dismissed 28th time on duck; interestingly the figure correlates with the date: 28 August.
Afridi now stands on third place in the
list of most ducks in career, behind Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) and Wasim Akram (Pakistan).
The 32-year-old has represented Pakistan in 347 one-day international matches, taking 347 wickets and scoring above 7000 runs with the average of 23.48.
Without a shred of doubt, Afridi can be regarded as some of the most popular players in the cricketing history.
Though Afridi has many a record under his belt, consistency is missing, and which is why some critics do not approve of the player.
But fans are fans; they only want to see the positive things, and there is no dearth of such things in Afridi’s career.
For instance, he scored two of the fastest ODI centuries, including the fastest one aver which he scored at the age of 16 in his very first innings.
